FPF Competition Results

Dear All,

After much deliberation, looking and imaginary smelling and licking the winners of the FPF competion are as follows, is reverse order which means the 3rd place animal is announced first, with the first place one announced at the end:

Third Place: Bluebeard - for the hairiest and biggest paws.
Second Place: Matteo - those feet are a delight to my eyes; so interesting and different looking and so much to sniff; I could be in licking heaven for hours and hours and hours...
First Place (imagine drum roll): Feeta - excellent posing and they looks very dirty and smelly and I imagine I'd have a lot of fun chasing them as you run away from me!

I will contact the winners individually to arrange delivery of prizes.

It's a Bank Holiday but Emma's not a Bank!

Dear All Bankers or Not,

Today is bank holiday in England, which means that many people don't work whether they usually work in a bank or not. What it actually means is that the banks or financial-type shop places are shut but that's all really and everybody else just takes a holiday in any case. It used to mean that everywhere was shut and you couldn't buy anything but now people can go out shopping too cos they're not working - not earning money but spending it - well they get the money anyway cos it's a holiday they're entitled to with pay as well. Some people still work though; either cos they choose to or cos they have to. Hospitals have to keep going cos people can still get sick so doctors and nurses work. And the police still have to work cos there may be even more people on the streets to commit crimes or have them committed to them. And the people serving the people going shopping need to be there to take their money. And some people just work cos they love it or for some other strange or not reason.

Emma says she isn't a bank and also doesn't work in a bank but she has decided to do some research so that she can find out some things that she wants to know; which is what research is, and so she is at the computer looking for those things and I have taken advantage and asked her to blog a bit for us!

Dear Everyone Who Reads This...

Not that if you don't read this you're not dear but it only matters if you read it that you're dear cos if you don't read it then you won't know anything about it whether you're dear or not...

Oh and if you happen to be a deer then please send us pictures of your hooves if that's what the things on the end of your legs are called cos I'm not totally sure!

Anyway we had a special request from one of the Foot, Paw and Fin competition entrants for Emma and I to add our feet and paws - just to make sure nobody is confused you'll see her feet and my paws cos she doesn't have paws and I don't have feet.

Also to make it clear we are not entering our own cmpetition - this is just in response to a request and to demonstrate how much fun it can actually be to take photos of your paws and feet or whatever else you have, although I'm not sure you can actually 'see' what fun we had but I assure you we did!

Anyway here and there they are...

The Foot, Paw and Fin competition!

Hi Everyone,

I simply adore feet, as many of you will be aware. They are my favourite part of the human body. I love to lick them and smell them. Apparently the health reason behind me licking them is to get salt, which is supposed to be good for me, but even if that didn't happen I'd still lick them cos it's such a nice thing to do - and most of them have some sort of cheesy smell, which is my favourite thing to eat. I think I'm also helping my humans cos then their feet get washed but they don't seem to see it that way cos they find it a bit annoying and ask me to stop or put shoes, socks or slippers on their feet to stop me, and then often Peter goes off to the bathroom to wash his feet afterwards with soap and water and some sort of human medicine thing.
Anyway this all made me think it'd be fun to run a competition to see who has the best feet! And so as not to leave out dogs, cats or fish paws and fins are also allowed. If you are an octopus you can send in a picture of your tentacles - anyway you get the idea - please submit pictures of your appendages for consideration. Ideally I would then lick all your submissions in person, or in dog, cat or fish or what species you are, but that could be difficult and require a lot of travelling! So instead I will look at the pictures and imagine I am licking them and you can describe to me what yours smell like. Emma will also be a judge but I think she will judge more on the aesthetics and quality of your pictures - which both really mean what they look like - which I think are silly things to judge on and won't get anything like as high a portion of the marks as my judging - in other words what I think matters a lot more!
The prize will be a treat according to your species and personal tastes and something to eat!

Sun Fun Here We Come! :)

I am a frolicker - which doesn't mean that I lick fros and I don't even know what a fro is or if it really exists - when it comes to the sun cos I love to run about in it and it's sunny today and so I've been doing a lot of frolicking! Emma doesn't frolick in it quite so much as me as the sun - as she puts it - plays havoc with her freckles, making more of them - or makes the bits of her that don't have freckles go red. I don't have freckles so I don't have that problem. For anyone who doesn't know - cos I didn't - freckles are like much smaller versions of the brown patches that I have on me. I am mostly white with brown spots. Emma is mostly light pink with tiny brown spots. And of course I have a lot more hair than she does, although hers is longer than mine even when I'm scruffy Ted. And when I'm tired of frolicking I will rest on the garden seat as you can see... What do you enjoy doing in the sun? Bo in The White House

Dear Dog Friends and Companions, I just heard - well actually I heard a while ago but as usual had to wait for Emma to come to type my thoughts about it - that the Obama's Special Advisor Dog in The White House will be a Portuguese Water Dog and they will call him Bo. I was very disappointed at first - why not a JRT cos we are so good at everything and I thought they made a mistake - but it seems that one of the young humans he is looking after is allergic to dogs - which means that whenever she (the human girl) is near him (the dog) she sneezes and feels ill which isn't a very desirable thing to happen cos then they're not happy companions cos friends don't make each other ill, or at least if they do it's not very good really - and Bo is hypoallergenic, which means that he doesn't make her allergic. I understand this sort of thing cos Emma is allergic and would normally be allergic to me and Yorky cos we wear fur and that's one of the things that makes her allergic, but she says her level of allergicness is controlled by tablets she swallows and drugs she breathes in with her nose, but it would seem that Malia Obama is more allergic or that she doesn't have drugs. Anyway whichever it is Bo is also a gift and so that's probably another reason why he was accepted cos it's not nice to reject a gift. He may not be as intelligent as me but he will be useful cos he likes water and catching fish - I hope they like to eat fish!! And they are calling him Bo! 'The face of Bo, they called me' said Captain Jack to The Doctor and Martha. That made them think that he was the character called The Face of Boe. Actually, as Emma says we're not very sure about the spelling cos we think the face of Boe had an e rather than just Bo, but we also thought that Captain Jack would be The Face of Beau cos that means beautiful in French and we both think he is. Anyway, given that this dog has the face of Bo, then maybe he will be very brave and live for a long time and serve everyone very well.
